Charcoal Moments your spaces.
Besides the very organic and tactile nature of charcoal, I enjoy the easy flow from rough idea to expression without overthinking. Through experimentation, I've noticed the feeling it gives when applied to textured recycled paper. I've been using simple watercolor brushes to apply most of the charcoal after a basic 'pen and ink' sketch technique as a base.
The inspiration for this experimental style came from noticing the dialogue between architecture, plant life, and natural light throughout my global travels.
I've always been attracted to minimal design and simplicity. Scandinavian design, in particular, encouraged my love for simple form and function...the intersection of natural elements and creativity...the subtle warmth and introspection it brings.
I just wanted my work to evoke that same sense of peaceful introspection and contemplation. It's like enjoying a taste of a moment that will never come again.
